William Jay’s 1832 ledger contains records regarding foundation work for this building. However, there is some speculation that the structure pre-dates 1832. The barn was used until the end of farming operations at the Homestead in the years following the second world war. Today it houses an exhibition on farming and is used for many popular special events.
