John Jay's house (1787-1801)

The house looks generally as it did when finished by John Jay for his own use in the fall of 1801. The house actually incorporates an earlier building that Jay had designed himself and built for his farm manager in 1787. In the mid-1920s a large stone wing was constructed on the western side.
