(From Westchester area - for buses)
From Southern Westchester:
-Take I-87 to the Junction with I-287, the Cross Westchester
Expressway - and go EAST towards White Plains.
-Continue EAST on I-287 to exit for I-684 North, BETWEEN exits 8 & 9
-Go NORTH on I-684 to exit 6 (exit sign says: Katonah-Cross River,
Rt. 35)
-At end of ramp, turn RIGHT onto Rt. 35 EAST (towards Cross River)
-Go ¼ mile to traffic light at intersection with Rt. 22, turn RIGHT
and go SOUTH on Rt. 22 for 1.6 miles, John Jay Homestead State
Historic Site is on the LEFT.
From Coastal Connecticut:
- Take I-95 SOUTH/WEST (towards New York)
-Continue SOUTH/WEST to junction in New York State with I-287 and go
WEST (towards White Plains)
-Go WEST on I-287 to I-684 NORTH, between exits 9 & 8
-Go NORTH on I-684 to exit 6 (exit sign says: Katonah-Cross River,
Rt. 35)
-At end of ramp, turn LEFT onto Rt. 35 EAST (towards Cross River)
-Go 1/4 mile to traffic light at intersection with Rt. 22, turn
RIGHT and go SOUTH on Rt. 22 for 1.6 miles, John Jay
Homestead State Historic Site is on the LEFT.
From I-84 Hudson Valley or Central Connecticut:
- Go EAST/WEST on I-84 to New York State and the junction with I-684
SOUTH
- Go SOUTH on I-684 to exit 6 (exit sign reads Katonah-Cross
River Route 35)
- At end of ramp, turn LEFT onto Rt. 35 EAST (towards Cross
River)
- Go 1/4 mile to traffic light at intersection with Rt. 22, turn
RIGHT and go SOUTH on Rt. 22 for 1.6 miles, John Jay Homestead State
Historic Site is on the LEFT.
From Peekskill area:
-Take Route 35/202 east to Katonah
-Cross over the I-684 interchange and continue ¼ miles to traffic
light at intersection with Rt. 22, turn RIGHT and go SOUTH on Rt. 22
for 1.6 miles, John Jay Homestead State Historic Site is
on the LEFT.
Then:
-Turn in at the main entrance. Drive up to the parking lot at the
head of the drive. You may either: park in the lot and allow the
group to walk up to the house through the garden, or turn left at
the parking lot, pass the half white gate and drive up to the front
of the Homestead to drop visitors off just beyond the porch. The bus
should turn right on the carriage circle and continue up to the
front of
the Homestead where passengers may disembark. A museum
staff member will meet the group at this area. The bus MUST
return to the lot while the group is in the historic house. (The
roadway must remain clear for emergency vehicles.) The driver is
welcome to join the group as it tours the house. The bus may return
to the front of the Homestead to pick the group up at the appointed
departure time.
